if you look closely at the light, it looks like a car with a key in the middle of it. The light is a theft deterrant. Generally, it means that the stereo unit is bolted to the passenger airbag or something like that. It just lets any thieves no ahead of time that it is going to be very hard to get the stereo out. So the idea is, that they'll just leave it alone
On a Mazda tribute, the car with a key light indicator means that the engine is started.
I believe that when the PATS theft light is blinking RAPIDLY it is because you are trying to start the car with a non-PATS coded key. If it is blinking every couple of seconds SLOWLY, it just means the system is monitoring the ignition.
It sounds like an anti-theft indicator light. The blinking light means that the security system is active and is functioning properly.
The red key light is for a security system (if your bike has one installed). When the red key is blinking, the security system should immobilize the starter.
That depends on when it's blinking. If it's blinking rapidly when you turn the key on, there is a problem in the anti-theft, and the truck probably won't start. If it's blinking every 3 seconds when the key is off, that is a normal condition. It's telling you that the system is armed and ready.
press the door light switch 5 times with ignition key on position . then turn of the key .(driver side door)
If there's a red blinking light on the dash by the Hazard switch, yes.
Get out unlock the door with the key. Then get back it and try it
From what ive read it is the passive security system, it reads a chip in the key once inserted and stops blinking. in other words the car wont start without the chipped ford key
The blinking red light under the windshield on the driver side indicates that the car has not been locked with the key fob. Using the key fob to arm the theft alarm system turns the red light continuously on. In other words, the blinking is to remind the driver that the car is not locked (but will also be visible to any passerby, which is really a dumb feature of the car...why advertise the fact that the alarm system hasn't be activated?).
Worn out Key, or module is shot. Try key first, and then scan at a dealership. Hopefully key. Cheaper... by hundreds of $$$$.
