April to June is the bloom time for the windflower. The wildflower also is known by the name 'wood anemone'. But whatever the common name, the plant matures to a height of 6 - 12 inches [15.24 - 30.48 centimeters]. The slender stalk sports just three leaves, above which blooms the delicate flower that's white on top and often pink on the undersides.

The plant has native ranges in North America and in Europe. In the United States, the variety is 'Anemonequinquefolia'. In Europe, the equivalent, related variety is 'Anemone nemorosa'.
