You can sometimes figure it out by the serial number, but not always. You can call the company and they MAY be able to tell you, or you can look in a reference book such as the Blue Book of Gun Values or the Shooter's Bible. Those have some but not all serial information.
Refer to the "Shooter's Bible" on firearm values; however, those particular rifles are extremely common...versions are still being offered in National Rifle Association magazines at NEW and UNUSED conditions.
