Unfortunately there is part of the people in Iran and in Iraq who are Shiat not Sunni.
Shiat are divided into many factions many of whom have left Islamic faith already because they harm the prophet, his wife and his companions with false accusations. They even changed the Athan "Prayer Call" phrases. These are not Muslims any more.
Some other Shiats remain Muslims because they do not follows the above factions in their faith. They only pray for Allah and believe in his prophet similar to any other Muslim.

iraq ,iran..around 90 percent of shias..
Both. Shiites are primarily concentrated in Iran and the southeast of Iraq. In both countries, they constitute a majority of the country's inhabitants, although Iran's majority is larger both in number and percentage,
SAVAK was the Iranian Secret Police under the Shah of Iran. Shiites are the sect of Islam that is dominant in Iran, Iraq, and Azerbaijan.
Iran has shia Islam as the state religion and about 96% of Iranians are actually shiites. Iraq is a more difficult situation, Iraq consists of three major religious groups, Shiite muslims, Sunnite muslims and Kurds. Kurds live in the North-west of the country, shiites live in the east and north-east of the country (along the border with Iran), and sunnites are found in the rest of the country. Kurds don't have a main religion. some are shiites, some are sunnites. The majority of kurds are sunnites though. the overall religion of Iraq consists of 65% Shiites and 35% sunnites. this has created a lot of difficulty for Iraqi politics. the President is a sunnite and the prime minister is a shiite. it took more than 100 days for the winning parties to form a coalition partially because of the religious differences.
