Both north and south towers have a small maintenance elevator in the east side that goes the entire length of the tower for access to the top platform (scary up there!) and the main suspension cables. Otis Elevator does regular upkeep on them. They are primitive and very small, not much bigger than a phone booth. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the top. They are the original units, too. There are also various ladders, platforms, and catwalks that take workers to all interior surfaces and levels of the towers and crossmembers.
