== == The standard two letter postal abbreviation for the state of Connecticut is CT. Standardized two-letter state abbreviations were implemented by the USPS in 1987, prior to which the conventional long forms were still used, such as Fla for Florida, Conn for Connecticut, and Mass for Massachusetts.

I used to send letters to my cousins on Long Island New York addressed to Smithtown, L.I. , as if Long Island were it's own state rather than a part of New York. The letters never had any trouble arriving, but I did get a gentle note from my letter-carrier in 1988 requesting I use the new standard format 'just to be safe'. Conventional forms are still used in casual writing. For example, a band composed of members from Massachusetts and Connecticut named themselves Mass-Conn-Fusion.
Connecticut abbreviated is 'CT'.
