Gift and procreation

Sex is a gift from god. God made sex fun because he loves us, and he wants us to enjoy our lives.

In return for this, god has asked that we use sex to procreate, to create more humans to populate the earth.

Sex and marriage

God has also said that the best environment to raise a child is a man and a women who love each other.

So many Christians choose not to have sex until they are married, because they don't want to risk having a child out of wedlock.

Contraception

Since the idea of sex is to procreate, it would be hypocritical to have sex, and at the same time prevent yourself from having children.

So many catholics choose not to use contraception

Other catholics believe that god does allow contraception, and that he invented natural ways to protect yourself from childbirth. They believe these methods are okay.

Catholics believe that you should not have sex before marriage. They also believe that if you have been divorced, you cannot re-marry, even if by law you have divorced. The only exception to this is if one half has committed adultery (sex/relations with someone else). However, marriages can be annuled if the two have not had sex.
