Is it a lifter ticking?
If its coming from your engine, you may need a valve adjustment..
if its a tick not a knock, its probably lifter noise. its not too terrible, once the weather warms up, i would recommend getting some thicker oil, if it fixes it, then im probably right.
Yes, especially on cars with high mileage. I have a 90 Acura Legend (made by Honda) with 145,000 miles and it does this too. As the car warms up, the ticking noise decreases or goes away. I've gotten use to it and ignore it.
Could be a weak oil pump. The reason it is ticking is that the oil is not flowing to the lifters when it's cold. It's not that big of a deal.
Could be your lifters hitting the inside of your valve covers, it may only do this when it is cold and when it warms it will stop. You could try loosening the bolts on your vavle cover
You have to locate the source of the noise then repost your findings.
The sun warms the earth.
this is normally caused by a worn belt.after the vehicle warms up the belt expand with the heat picking up the slack and stopping the noise.
If the noise on occurs after the vehicle has sat for a while, it could be a hydralic valve lifter bleeding off. They tend to click for a while until the oil pushes all of tha air out. Maybe go to a lighter weight of oil. BG makes a product called MOA that has helped ease the clicking noise in vehicles I have worked on in the past. Take it easy until it warms up and even clicking it should last for a whole lot more miles!
this is caused from piston to cyl wall clearance when engine warms up the pistons exspand and the noise is less. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT
it may be an exhaust manifold gasket. when they are bad, they make a tapping soud til it heats up and semi-seals itself. it's one thing to have checked.
