A cell wall protects and supports the cell. The cell wall is a rigid layer of nonliving material, mostly made of cellulose. It is the outside layer of a plant cell and some other organisms. It is very strong, but certain materials, such as water and air, can pass through easily. It also helps keep cells rigid and boxlike.

The cell wall provides rigidity and support for the plant cell. It does not really control flow of materials into the cell, though. The cell wall provides rigidity and support for the plant cell. It does not really control flow of materials into the cell, though.

A cell wall does many things for a plant cell (they are not found in animal cells). The cell wall surrounds the cell, gives the whole cell protection, gives it shape and acts as a filter for substances such as oxygen and carbon dioxide in or out of a cell.

cell was is basically providing extra strength to a plant cell and its a dead cell made up of cellulose. it is fully permeable which allows all the substances to pass through. so the main function is to give a proper shape to plant cell and gives extra strength.it is absent in animal cell because animals have vertebrate.
