Catholic AnswerThe center of the Catholic Bible is Jesus Christ, the entire Old Testament points to Him, and the New Testament preaches Him. Catholics are not in the habit of practicing Biblical statistics, like counting words and chapters, they are more interested in learning the saving truths that the Bible is trying to impart. As the Bible is the Word of God in the actual words of God, we cannot spend too much time learning it. As St. Jerome said, "ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ." I would suggest, from a Catholic point of view, that counting chapters in the Bible is ignorance of the Bible, and what it is trying to teach.
