Cobalt Oxide ie, CoO is stable at above 900°C.
However, Co (cobalt) can have 2 valencies, either Co(II) or Co(III). When it is Co(II) its oxide can be written as CoO and when its in Co(III) form, the oxide will be Co3O4.
The reaction of conversion from CoO to Co3O4 is given below:
3 CoO + 1/2 O2 Co3O4
It's an element, so it only requires one symbol. Not to be confused with CO, which is carbon monoxide, a dangerous gas.
The chemical formula for Cobalt Chloride is CoCl2
Cobalt is a metal, so it retains solely its elemental symbol: Co.
Cobalt carbonyl: C8Co2O8
CoO, Co2O3, Co3O4
TiCO3 is the chemical formula of titanium carbonate.
Lithium oxide has the chemical formula Li2O.Soium oxide has the chemical formula Na2O.Lithium sodium oxide has the chemical formula LiNaO.
The chemical formula for the compound of cobalt and sulfur is CoS (cobalt monosulfide).
Formula: CoBr3
Cr2O3 is the chemical formula for chromium (III) oxide
Co2(CO3)3The chemical formula of cobalt(III) carbonate [not cobalt(111)] is Co2(CO3)3.
The formula for cobalt (II) oxide is CoO.
TiCO3 is the chemical formula of titanium carbonate.
Cobalt oxides are: cobalt(I) oxide, cobalt(II) oxide and cobalt(II,III) oxide.
The roman number III indicates that the ion of cobalt present in this form of cobalt in the cobalt oxide is Co3+. Since cobalt also exists as a Co2+ form, these must be distinguished in some way. The standard is to use roman numerals to denote the charge. Both Cobalt (III) oxide and Cobalt (II) oxide still have the chemical formula of Co3O4.
Co2O3

The chemical formula for the compound of cobalt and sulfur is CoS (cobalt monosulfide).
The chemical formula for cobalt(III) acetate is (CH3CO)3Co.
Dipotassium oxide's chemical formula is K2O.
