My pediatrician told me that they don't get a set amount. If they eat only 2 ounces on one side and 3 on the other and they should be getting 6 total ounces they will need to feed more often. Also if they are more fussy they may not be getting enough. My daughter feed less then a formula feed baby. I choose to pump and feed so that i could give her the power of breast milk with the knowledge of bottle fed.
