In the early 60s, in the Ford line, the best hot rod motor was 427 CI engine introduced in 1963. In 1962, they offered a 406 CI for one year, as I recall. In 1961, the 390 CI was the top offering. Prior to that, it was just the 352 CI. The T Bird offered a 430 CI engine borrowed from Lincoln from 1958 to 1963, I think. The 406 & 427 models were they only ones that would develop real power.
If it's the straight six it's the 4.9L (300 CI).If it's the V8 it's the 5.0L (302 CI).
379 ci
The CI stands for compression-ignition engine also known as a diesel engine. The CI engine is classified as an internal combustion engine.
The first 75 Cobra Mark I’s were fitted with the 260 ci. The remaining 51 Mark I models were fitted with a larger version of the Windsor Ford engine, the 289 ci.
That car didn't come with a 460 engine. They had the 289 ci, 390 ci and the 427 ci engine available in 1965. If it has the 427 ci engine it could be worth in a low retail situation $3,475. Average retail $10,300 and in a high retail situation $13,350. It's all about condition and factory options.
