Some days are Hot and Humid. Some days are Hot and Windy ( Chicago is called the Windy City!). Some days are just Hot! The nights cool down, not as warm as the noon.
I live In Chicago for the past 7 years, and summer in Chicago is like visiting the tropics. they start putting out palm trees in the summer, and it is hot and humid, and the nights are still warm and humid. It really replenishes you're skin.
It's what's called continental.
It's similar to Paris and Beijing, but usually somewhat colder in the winter than either. Vienna, Warsaw or Geneva are fairly similar.
Moscow is similar but colder and darker in the winter than Chicago is.
The Koppen Climate classification system places Chicago in the humid continental zone (dfa, to be exact...the somewhat warmer spectrum of the Continental climate zone), with mild-very significant influence from Lake Michigan (very moderating effects in nearbye neighborhoods, with effect at times, about reaching as far as the nearest suburbs). A Continental Climate is characteristic of somewhat of a majority of the midwest, as well as (in elements rather than pure form) in mid-atlantic states and New England (although these latter areas usually hold at least some maritime influence as well). Continental Climates are distinguished by their extremes- usually cold winters, and warm to hot summers frequently displaying moderately high humidity.
The weather in Illinois is warm in the spring, hot in the summer, cool in the autumn, and super cold in the winter.Sometimes in the spring there might be a tornado and in the winter there might be raining hail.aAlso there is a bad chance that there will be a flood around every year.
The weather in Chicago is sometimes warm but as the months change the weather changes.
It's called the "windy city" so it's most likely to be windy and chilly in the winter and mild in the summer, with a breeze

When flying in and out of Chicago, many wonder what weather circumstances will ground their flights. Only extreme weather such as blizzard, or conditions where it is unsafe to fly, will cause such a delay.
The low pressure system will bring warm and rainy weather to Chicago.
One can find the 7 day forecast for Chicago in a few different places like: The Weather Channel, Fox 32 News, or The National Weather Service. A local newspaper also has the 7 day forecast.
Hot humid summers and cold blistery winters. Everything in between is wonderful. Chicago weather is ridiculously unpredictable! If you don't like the current weather just wait a few minutes and it will change. It's kind of great though because it keeps everything fresh and exciting! They were right about the Windy City name though... sometimes you can't even walk right without bashing into things or getting blown over. The Lake Effect really is what runs the weather in Chicago because of the added moisture influencing the air. Winters are colder and snowy because of it, Summers are hotter for the same reversed reason added with humidity, short storms pop up around Chicago because of the lake moisture and climate... it's almost like how tropical weather can be. Sunny then cloudy then windy then storm then sunny. It's never a dull weather day in Chicago!
