Spiderweb-like (hence the name) arachnoid layer is one of the three meninges, the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. It is interposed between the two other meninges, the more superficial dura mater and the deeper pia mater, and is separated from the pia mater by the subarachnoid space.

The outer most covering of the brain is called dura mater. It consists of two layers, the periosteal outer layer and meningeal inner layer.
The middle layer of the atmosphere is the Mesosphere.
The chromosphere is the middle layer of the sun's atmosphere.
The ear drum, also known as the tympanic membrane, is an oval shaped structure with an average size of 8 by 10 millimeters. It has three layers. The outer layer consists of a thin layer of skin, the middle layer is fibrous tissue and the inner layer is mucosa.

The opaque middle layer of the eyeball is referred to as the choroid. The structure is made up of a total of four layers.
The outermost protective covering the the brain is the dura mater, the outermost of the meningeal layers.
A subdural hematoma is a collection of blood in the space between the outer layer (dura) and middle layers of the covering of the brain (the meninges). It is most often caused by torn, bleeding veins on the inside of the dura as a result of a blow to the head. The meninges are layers or covers of the brain. There are 3 meninges but only 2 ways which blood can collect: EPIDURAL, SUBDURAL, SUBARACHNOID.Dr. evans onyango
