It sounds like you are describing the transmission temperature warning light. Yes,as above.Check colour of trans fluid and if brown then indicates fluid has been affected by high temp.Needs replacing.Fully flush trans before replacing.Trans fluid gets hot when not replaced for long time or trans cooler defective.
