Potassium dichromate is orange and when it reacts with ethanol which is a primary alcohol it is going to oxidise it to form aldehyde which is colorless. so the color change is from Orange to Colorless. :)
The dark brown color is due to the formation of manganese dioxide (MnO2)
the main reason why ethanol burns differently then ethanol and water mix is mainly because when you add the water to the ethanol you are making the ethanol less potent so it will burn weaker.

The cobalt chloride test paper would turn from blue to pink when exposed to ethanol. This is because ethanol dehydrates the cobalt chloride, causing a change in color.
The color of potassium permanganate does not disappear when excess ethanol is added because ethanol cannot fully reduce potassium permanganate. While ethanol can partially reduce potassium permanganate to form manganese dioxide, the color remains because there is still some potassium permanganate present in the solution.
The change in color of ethanol when exposed to ferrox paper is due to the reaction between ethanol and the iron salts present in the ferrox paper. This reaction causes the ethanol to oxidize, leading to a color change in the solution.
Color and volatility
Initially, potassium permanganate added to heated ethanol would turn purple due to its characteristic color. However, as the reaction progresses and the ethanol is oxidized, the color of potassium permanganate will eventually disappear as it reacts with the ethanol.
This is ethanol (C2H5OH) with some added substances to modify the color, odor and taste.

Half fill a beaker with boiling water and add a large test tube that is a quarter full of ethanol. Allow the ethanol to come to a boil. Do not heat the ethanol in a Bunsen burner flame. This is not safe because ethanol is highly flammable. Take a leaf that has been sitting in good light for at least a few days, and soften in the boiling water for ten seconds or so. Then add to the ethanol, and allow to boil for about a minute until all the color disappears from the leaf. Remove the leaf from the ethanol. Put it back in the hot water to soften for 10 seconds. Spread the leaf out on a white tile and use the iodine solution to test for starch a blue-black color indicates starch is present.
