The wording "Account closed by consumer" means that "you", and not the lender, closed the account. It usually indicates that there was no problem on "your" behalf with the account.

Recovery questions are highly recommended as they add an extra layer of security to your account. If your account is compromised you will have a better chance of getting your account back as fast as possible. Recovery questions should be questions that you will remember, if you think you might forget the answers right them down on a piece of paper and put it in a safe place.
try to get an account recovery using the account recovery section, otherwise if you can't the only way you can avoid the paying, is to cancel you credit card otherwise you are screwed.
if your account was created after the 24th november 2010 then reset the password if created before 24th november 2010 then create a new account
Since the introduction of the JAG (Jagex Account Guardian), it is no longer possible to setup recovery questions as it worked previously. We are now required to setup JAG for any sort of "recovery" security to be enabled on our accounts, so you'll have to setup JAG.
