Immense indeed. He was a revolutionary and a great scholar of Tamil. In this day when many clamour to study in English medium education V.V.S Iyer who spoke several languages fluently and was a great Tamil scholar to boot is someone worth remembering. His knowledge of Kamba Ramayanam and the eloquence with which he praised Kamban as the greatest poet in any language is something the Tamils must remember. It is time the Tamil people start cherishing their language while learning other languages in the world at the same time.
