What is the correct Timing for a 1986 Chevy blazer with a 350?
8 to 10 degrees.
Needing more info for a complete answer Chevy didnt build a Tahoe in 1986. If you are refering to the full size Blazer K5 or K10, the carb would likely be a Rochester Quadrajet with computer feedback/emissions solenoids. it really doesn't matter what vehicle the carb is on the correct air fuel mixture is 14:1. 14parts air to 1part fuel. also Chevy built a s-10 with a Tahoe package in 86
On my K5 the timing tab was not there I had to buy one from a parts store. Answer On the k5 I have there was no timing tab I had to buy one from a parts store. TDC mark is white or just a cut. This is found behind the fan nearest the motor. It can be hard to see. When you find it mark it with something white (white out, paint, ect.)
It uses a timing chain and sprockets. I don't know how many links are in the chain. It doesn't normally break like a timing belt does, but it does wear out and can cause timing problems. If it is allowed to wear far enough it can jump a tooth and that usually stops the engine from being able to run.
