Most fuel filters will have an arrow that points toward the engine - that will be the correct direction for installing. Other fuel filters will be stamped either on the ends or sides with IN and OUT or TANK and ENGINE or something to that effect. The container or box that the filter came in should also have installation instructions. If still in doubt, ask someone at the business where you purchased it.
Depending on the fuel filter, it will either have an arrow or be label inlet and outlet. The arrow should be placed pointing away from the tank. Those labeled inlet and outlet will only attach in the correct direction.
There is a correct flow direction for a fuel filter. if installed backwards the car may not start because not enough fuel can flow and the is not enough fuel pressure. Make sure the flow direction is positioned witht he arrow directed towards the outlet line to the engine fuel rail/carb. IS fuel the problem? IT takes not only fuel, but spark and combustion to start a motor. is the fuel filter on right?
if you have fuel to the filter but not beyond then obviously something is wrong with the filter. either it is clogged, which case its simply a matter of replacing it, or you have your filter installed in the wrong direction...yes there is a correct flow direction. there should be and arrow which would indicate the low direction. in any event the arrow should point toward the motor.

the fuel filter is along the frame rail on the passenger side of the car, just as the frame gos up before the front passenger tire, you can follow the fuel lines down to it. place car on stands or ramps, make sure to install filter in the correct direction, there is an arrow on the filter.
fuel filters have an arrow printed on them indicating the direction of the flow.
Fuel filter should be either along frame rail or in front of tank -- follow fuel lines Remove clamps and replace filter Make note of fuel flow direction on filter
i would like to know which direction the arrow on the fuel filter is to be facing towards the motor or fuel tank
Yes, fuel filters are directional.
Next to the fuel tank under the vehicle is a silver filter with an arrow on it, the arrow suggest the direction of flow
FUEL FILTER: located just ahead of the back wheel on the passenger side. It is a small 'Cannister' shaped item. Just put the new one on in the SAME POSITION as the old one, to guarentee the flow direction is correct.
Check for fuel pressure to insure that the new pump operates properly. Make sure that the fuel filter was not installed backwards. The filter has an arrow to indicate fuel flow direction.
