Check for fuel pressure to insure that the new pump operates properly. Make sure that the fuel filter was not installed backwards. The filter has an arrow to indicate fuel flow direction.
repalce fuel filter repalce fuel filter
I would replace the fuel filter and check fuel pressure.
Start by checking your fuel filter.
Engine will not start, engine starts but dies,,,,,, You are driving on the road, You give the motor more fuel and it does not gain power to the same rate as extra fuel that is given
Replace the Fuel Filter. I had the same problem with my 87 Wrangler... For me it turned out to be fuel filter was clogged even though it was semi-new.
couple of things check fuel pressure (fuel pump bad) check fuel regulator pull vaccum to it make sure no fuel is coming out, or could be a simple ign module, also check timing start with this things
the fuel filter is starting to go bad.
A lack of fuel will cause your engine to idle but cut off when you give it gas. The fuel filter may need to be changed. A dirty air filter can cause the same problem.
First I would go with the fuel pump and the fuel filter. Check the vacuume lines. You may have unplugged crossed or not plugged something back in.
The air FILTER needs to be changed because it is dirty.
i also have a 93 thunderbird that had the same problem. you should first check the oil and see if it is a milky brown color kind of like chocalate milk if it looks like that u have a blown head gasket. If your oil looks clean like mine was then i recomend changing the fuel pump and fuel filter. After i changed my pump and filter my car ran like it was new.
Could be several reasons but the first one that comes to mind is a very plugged up fuel filter, the second reason would be fuel pump failure.
