couple of things check fuel pressure (fuel pump bad) check fuel regulator pull vaccum to it make sure no fuel is coming out, or could be a simple ign module, also check timing start with this things
my experiencess with vehicles that cut out while idleing would be a fuel filter or fuel pump problem.
I have had the same issue in my 92 gt and i replaced the fuel filter, vacume lines, and changed the tranny fluid and problem was gone due to one of the three changes

check fuel to engine from fuel pump.or a clogged up fuel filter.
The most likely cause of a 1992 Ford Aerostar stalling while idling is bad spark plugs. The plugs should be changed and the timing checked to resolve the problem.
Fuel filter or possibly Spark plugs. I would also change the PVC valve because its cheap and could also be the problem.
If the air filter is not changed in time it gets partially clogged, resulting in poor engine performance; particularly in EFI eingines. Disturbed and irratic idling is resulted along with higher fuel consumption.
A bad coolant temperature sensor is one thing that could cause an idling speed problem with a Peugeot 406. There could also be a problem with the idle control valve.
try checking EGR valve
a dirty air filter or a dirty fuel filter will cause a diesel to smoke
Have you recently had the sparkplugs out or changed? It may be possible that some of the wires were mixed up, so check your firing order.
Enough to get the level to the safe zone on the dipstick while idling in park. It depends on why you are adding. If you changed the filter in the pan, start with 4 quarts.
