if u are calling this straight 4 set up a V. i think you should not be concerned at all about timing. ur playin the wrong game. maybe get a desk job. or manual labor. but leave the skilled labor alone. sorry for the insults real answer here. new timing chain will come with 2 links painted about 10 inches apart from each other. line the painted or marked chain links with the marks on the cam and crank sprockets. i think the ignition timing is pretty much fool proof on this engine and only allows for soooo much adj with the slotted mount bolt holes. i hope this will help. if u are not buying a new timing chain then clean old one to see links.
