You need to be able to read the fluid temperature with a scan tool and compare that to a chart in the service manual to know what depth the fluid should be.

You can't check the transmission fluid. This is a sealed system with no user access.
A Mopar special tool and a star scan is required to check the transmission fluid in any of the newer model dodge, chrysler, and jeeps. The fluid level is very temperature sensitive It is impossible to get the level correct with out a scan tool.
It is a dealer check only. Dodge was having trouble with people adding too much or the wrong kind of transmission fluid so they removed the dip stick.
ATF+4 is the correct fluid for numerous Dodge transmissions.
Mopar ATF+4, dry fill is about 9 quarts.
