This is difficult to answer because there are many types of equipment considered to be electronic waste. Keep in mind the current minimum wage for your location. It takes approximately 30 minutes to disassemble 1 computer monitor and approximately 60 minutes to completely disassemble 1 computer tower including the CD, Floppy,Hard drives and Power Supply. Now the separated parts: plastic, aluminum, steel, circuit boards, and glass need to go through further processing before they can be raw material again. This requires expensive machinery. There is a lot to consider to answer this question. It is far less damaging to the environment to recover these materials than to mine them from the earth.
