Where is Gandhi sagar dam built?

Somewhere in Madhya Pradesh (India). May be near Ramapura. Gandhi Sagar Dam and Power Station, built on the Chambal River, is located at Bhanpura in Mandsaur District of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is about 168 km from Mandsaur. Foundation stone of the dam was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the late Prime Minister of India, on the 7th March, 1954 & completed in 1960. It is a 64 metre high masonry gravity dam, with a live storage capacity of 6,920 Mm³ and a catchment area of 22,584 km². The power station is about 65 m long and 17 m wide. The power station has an installed capacity of 115 MW of electricity. The hydro-power station comprises five generating units of 23 MW capacity each.The water released after power generation is utilised for irrigation through Kota Barrage. The power station supplies electricity throughout the district as well as to the nearby places in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
