The two major creeds of the faith are the Nicene Creed and the Apostle's Creed. They mean different things to different Christians. For most Christians, including the Catholics and the Mainline Protestants, the creeds are summaries of faith which are used to educate candidates for confirmation and affirm what the universal church believes about the basic doctrines. I personally am a United Methodist and I had to memorize the Apostle's Creed and recite it to the congregation when I was confirmed.
Some Christians, especially Baptists, feel that is wrong to use any creed because The Bible should be the only document of faith. Still others simply do not use them.
The Nicene Creed which is recited at Mass every Sunday.
The Apostles' Creed which is a baptismal formula, and is commonly recited at the beginning of the Rosary.
The Athanasian Creed which was commonly recited at Prime in the pre-Vatican II Office.

Roman Catholic AnswerThe Nicene Creed is a basic summary of the beliefs of Christian. Christians practice their faith by living a good Christian life: following the Ten Commandments of God, the Six Precepts of the Church, and exercising the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.

Although a great many of Creed's songs seem to adhere to Christian concepts and beliefs, they are not signed to a Christian label, and they do not consider themselves a Christian band. So, no, Full Circle is technically not a Christian album, and Creed is technically not a Christian band (although they are certainly lame enough to be one). Creed comes from the Latin "credo" meaning "I believe. A creed is a set of fundamental beliefs usually expressed by a follower of a religion. In the Christian Church, creeds are not considered the words of god or scripture, but rather are thoughtful answers to various situations and issues. Additional Info: Creed is an authoritative or formal statement of religious belief, or confessions of faith. Any statement or system of belief, principles or opinions.
The Apostles' Creed developed over time and does not have a single author. It is believed to be a statement of faith originating from the early Christian community and is traditionally associated with the apostles, summarizing key Christian beliefs.
The Apostle's Creed is a collection of Christian doctrine. It contains the beliefs of Christian churches in the most basic form. Many would say that in order to be considered a true Christian Church that said church must hold the beliefs contained within the creed. The line "We believe in the Holy Spirit" means just that. The church saying the creed upholds the belief that the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity and is something to be believed in just as Jesus is something to believe in.
One example of a creed in the Bible is the Nicene Creed, which is a statement of faith that outlines key Christian beliefs such as the Trinity, the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the importance of the Church. It is based on the teachings of the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD and has been widely accepted by many Christian denominations as a foundational statement of faith.
