The cup of suffering. He would certainly have known what torments awaited Him in crucifixion and he was naturally repulsed by it.

The cup is figurative. Imagine that you do something wrong and you have to drink this cup of iniquity (let's say . . . poisin). We, as sinful human beings were supposed to drink it. Jesus was to bear that penalty by drinking that cup for the whole wordl, past present future. But Jesus was still human. He was just asking God if there could be another way, but there wasn't and so He drank it by dieing on the cross.
The homephone of prays is praise, preys or prays
The phrase "Let this cup pass from you" refers to a Biblical story in which Jesus prays to God in the Garden of Gethsemane before his crucifixion, asking if it is possible for him to avoid his impending suffering. Ultimately, he accepts his fate as part of God's will. It is used to illustrate a moment of intense struggle and acceptance in the face of adversity.
This is referred to as Jesus' High Priestly Prayer. Jesus played and continues to play many roles for the church. In His role as High Priest He ministers to us directly and goes before the Father for us in prayer. In John 17 Jesus prays for the protection of His followers and for their unity. I imagine He continues to pray in this same manner before the Father even now.
the holloy cup
Jesus took Peter, James, and John with him to watch and pray with him. Three times Jesus prayed that, if it be possible, the cup of suffering might be taken from him. While Jesus prayed for this possibility, he affirmed that if it wasn't possible, he wanted to do the Father's will.
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." [Matthew 26:39]
