The time command is used to time a command and not display the actual time. To display the time and date, the date command must be used.
Exactly what the name says: It displays and sets the date on a Linux system.
In Linux the chmod command is used to set file permissions.

With command date option -s
k is not a standard command in Linux.
There is no such command. Obviously, in order to enter a command into the prompt, Linux must already be on.
The 'man' or the 'info' command have documentation about utilities and commands in the system.
