A stowaway is someone who hides himself among the baggage of a ship without paying for a ticket. His hope is not to be discovered, or if he is discovered, that the ship will be too far from land for him to be put ashore, and the captain will not actually heave him overboard.
People have tried stowing away on aircraft, but the baggage compartments are smaller and often unpressurized. Stowing away in the wheel well is even more dangerous, since you will almost certainly asphyxiate and/or freeze to death.
