The principle behind it is that each member of the community works for the common benefit and receives goods according to their needs.

According to Marx a communist society would emerge after a transitional period of the Dictatorship of the proletariat =socialism . It is a form of government in which the state owns all land and factories, provides for people's needs. The state is governed by a single party, no other parties are permitted. So Communism is the extreme form of socialism in which all the wealth belongs to people (North Korea, Cuba).
