Generally most of the bacteria have the ability to take up DNA which is present freely in the environment. This is called Competence. It is genetically acquired. But some cells do not exhibit natural competence and they are treated with a suitable chemical like CaCl2 to make their cell wall relatively permeable to DNA. We can make any cell competent in vitro and introduce our desired gene which is taken up by the competent cell.
To test the efficiency of our treatment, we may introduce a marker gene like gene for antibiotic resistance such as Tetracyclin onto the desired gene and grow the treated cells on Tetracyclin medium so that only the cells that have taken up the DNA survive.
transformation is to introduce a foreign DNA segment to a competent cell. competent cell means a cell that have ability to take a foreign DNA. plasmid is genetic element that one can integrate a DNA segment. it has its promoter, resistance gene, multiple cloning site...
Competent cells if i not mistaken
You need to make multiple copies of the gene. Almost no lab protocol is 100% effective, which includes ligation/recombination or transformation/transfection.
Ian Wilmut did not call cloning cloning. He was the professor that had cloned Dolly (Andrew) the sheep. Johnny
Cloning is a type of asexual reproduction.

True, gene cloning, is an efficient way of producing large numbers a gene. These genes can be cloned repeatedly, at a rather as a rather efficient means.

True
Gene cloning is the replication of DNA fragments by the use of a self-replicating genetic material. Unlike reproductive cloning, which replicates an entire organism, gene cloning duplicates only individual genes of an organism's DNA.
The definition of a Cell Line is a culture developed from a single cell in which the makeup of the cells is uniform. essentially it is part of cloning of cells.
The definition of biotechnology varies, but a simple definition is the use of organisms by man. One example of biotechnology is cloning. We have been cloning plants for centuries. Each time a leaf is excised from a violet plant and placed in soil to grow a new plant, cloning has occurred. Today, we are not only doing the physical manipulation at the visual level but also on the molecular level. In modern or molecular biotechnology, we physically select the desired characteristic at the molecular level and add it to the organism's genetic makeup.

It would be like using carbon paper. Or maybe making two jars of koolaid using one package.
