Place a bucket beneath the 'U' bend to catch any water, and undo the pipe joints to remove the 'U' bend. Clean the pipes and 'U' bend as much as possible, before replacing the 'U' bend and tightening the joints (usually by hand if the pipes are plastic).
The type of material used to connect the pieces. Solder is used on copper or brass. Brazing uses a copper alloy and is used on Iron based items. Same process in how it is done.
Acrylic or Plexiglass is bent in different ways-- one way is -- it is molded during fabrication-- and the other way is you can bend it yourself. If you have a flat piece and would like to bend it you can use a hot air blower or you can purchase an electric strap heater. Heat bars are also sold as well as heat adjusting power boxes to be used with the heat bars. With this heat bar you simply place the plastic with your marked bend line on the heat bar and plug it in-- this heat process takes just about 5 minutes for the plastic to get soft enough for you to bend the rest by hand. This is a method that requires you to use angle jigs with clamps to hold the plastic until it cools down and hardens to your desired angle. You can make your own plastic bender heating tableor you can just buy heat bars. You can use a hot air gun--or you can use a strap heater.--set your piece of plexiglass on the table with your bend line on the edge of the table. - -place the strap heater on your marked / drawn bend line and plug in the heater or you can use the hot air blower guiding it from side to side and the until the acrylic bends on its own as it heats up. I build acrylic countertop candy display units for neighborhood grocery stores-- so ask me how I knowWhat I do is I add an extra 1/4 inch to my piece of plastic so that when it bends i can use the table saw to cut the bend crease off of the side and I use a torch to re-glaze the edge of the plastic for a smoothe glass like edge. For a tutorial on bending acrylic Google Acrylic Bending for direct links to acrylic bending tutorials-- or go to Http://hackaday.com
There is no real set temp for the lines ,the bigger thing is the heat that the outside unit is producing when the unit is on. A normal functional AC unit will be around 105 to 110 degrees as for the copper lines they should feel pretty cold to the touch like an ice colds beer feels in your hand......
