Hi,

a bootleg contains unreleased recordings,

a counterfeit exactly reproduces an official LP/CD (....),

a pirate rearranges officially released material to form a new LP/CD (...).

In the times when The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Who and others released songs in Europe that were not officially released in the US these were bootlegged. Technically this is more a pirate but as the songs were available otherwise I would still call these LPs bootlegs.
