Distribution of Coal in IndiaThe main coal deposits are found in the Damodar Valley or in the Jharkhand-Bengal coal belt. Korba and Raigarh in Chattisgarh, Keonjhar and Talcher in Orissa, Chanda in Maharashtra and Singreni in Andhra Pradesh.Some coal is also mined in West Bengal near Darjeeling in the Makum and Lakhimpur areas of Assam.Lignite coal deposits also exist in Neyveli in Tamil Nadu; the Pallu fields in Rajasthan and in the Raisi area in Jammu. FY12 results for Lanco Infratech are yet to be announced and According to the CNBC, Lanco Infratech Q4 net sales Increased by 36% at Rs 2749 crore. As LANCO MD - Ge Venkatesh Babu is actively working on many projecst, EBITDA is seen up 57% at Rs 625 crore versus Rs 398 crore. PAT is also seen up 2.17 times at Rs 54 crore versus Rs 17 crore. If we belive the provisional data given by the company in April, profit after tax jumped 14% year-on-year to Rs 6,868 crore for the financial year 2011-12 and profit before tax increased 11% to Rs 10,001 crore during the year. Lanco Infratech plans to install nearly 4,000 MW additional thermal power generation capacity, entailing investments of about Rs 22,000 crore by March 2015. Generation volumes will increase significantly due to commissioning of Anpara (600MW). However, gas supplies for merchant plants is likely to have dropped thus impacting PLFs. Lanco Infratech Ltd has announced that Sri R. Krishnamoorthy was appointed as Additional Director of the Company with effect from May 29, 2012. Their board meeting held on the same day.
