The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons) has no connection with the Exclusive Brethren or any of the other Brethren churches. Indeed, the United Brethren and others of the Brethren history are particularly anti-Mormon in belief and behavior. If the question is about differences in doctrine, particular beliefs would have to be compared individually. Unfortunately, the antagonism from the Brethren (felt by this author) has made such a point by point comparison next to impossible, although similarities do exist.
The most basic difference is that Exclusive Brethren believe in the Trinity and creeds, while the Latter Day Saints do not. The LDS believe that God the Father and Christ the Son are two separate beings that are one in purpose. In behaviour, Exclusive Brethren do not mix with people who are not members of their denomination - they will not eat with them, worship with them or socialise with them - whereas Mormons are eager to mix with non-members - that's why they keep turning up on your doorstep! Which brings me to another difference, namely that Exclusive Brethren are not active proseletysers; if God has predestined you to salvation, you will be led to join them. Mormons, on the other hand, are keen to spread their faith. You can turn up any Sunday at a Mormon place of worship and be welcomed warmly and invited to participate in the service (this does not apply to the temples, where you are only admitted if you have a "recommend" from your Mormon elders). If you attempt to visit an Exclusive Brethren place of worship you will be met with suspicion or even hostility and will be asked to leave before the Communion (Breaking of Bread) is celebrated. Both groups are largly patriarchal, but some Exclusive Brethen groups demand that the women demonstrate their subservience by wearing some item of clothing, usually a head covering. Mormon women dress modestly, but not to the extremes of the Exclusive Bretheren, and have much more freedom and hold some leadership positions.
The latter is better.
