One of the main problems with this question is that the US Democratic Party is not a homogeneous party. A Democrat from Mississippi and a Democrat from Connecticut may espouse a number of different and contradictory policies. So, in order for a statement to apply to all or most Democrats, it has to cover a wide chasm.
However, the fundamental difference between Socialists and Democrats is the nature of how much government control over the economy they would endorse. A Democrat usually endorses a high-level of industrial/corporate regulation and standards control, while maintaining private ownership. A Socialist usually endorses partial or complete public ownership of certain corporations or industries in addition to regulations. The remaining economic differences are questions of degree, such as the level of taxation, level of civic activist support, level of media oversight, etc.
On social issues, such as abortion, stem cell research, LGBTQA+ rights, and similar issues, the views of Democrats, especially, and Socialists differ on a person-to-person basis.
Many examples, such as the current Christian Democrats and Social Democrats.
Democrats tended to favor a laissez-faire goverment.
No. "Fascist" is what Democrats call Republicans. The Clintons are closer to socialists.
Yep, Democrats want to give the dime away, and the Republicans want the people to earn it.
The Republicans were in mroe power than the Democrats at the time. Keegan is silly.
OBAMA =)
He's from Switzerland, their main parties are Socialists (socialdemocrats, laboursocialists, etc.) and Christian democrats
Democrats are usually considered to the left of Republicans, although this generally only comes down to a difference in rhetoric. Generally, there is not much difference between the two parties in practice.
The Socialists were making many positive gains against the Democrats and Republicans.
socialist were more interested in drastic political and social reorganization
There's a list of them, but generally it's communists, socialists, and progressives. The biggest party with that coalition are the democrats.
The amount of control government should have over business activities.
