Well I am Syrian and I have to say that they are very similar with differences mainly in the spices and quantities used.
It is worth noting that strictly speaking dishes in the Levantine region are associated with cities NOT regions or countries. So a dish might taste differently depending on whether you have it in Damascus, Homs or Aleppo.
