CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist: This is a person who went to a trade school that did not offer a degree (at least associate's) in the respiratory care field. Basically, you go to school for a year, get a piece of paper that says you fulfilled what the school wanted you to do to get that certificate... THAT is a CRT.. and you'll have one heck of a time finding a job with all the RRTs out there.

RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist: This is a person that has gone to an accredited college/university, to the National Board Exams, passed, and is now a registered member into that group... and you must have at least an associate's degree.

Hope this helps
