Functions are predefined formulas that do tasks in a simpler way, saving the user time. A function normally has a standard process so it can be applied to any values that the user supplies. A formula can consist of functions and can do a wide range of things. A formula can be a particular function used to do a specific calculation. What-if analysis uses formulas or functions to enable you to work out what happens in similar situations using different values. The formulas stay the same and then different values can be used to experiment to see what happens in different situations.
