A shoe is an inanimate man-made and only provides one function: to provide comfort, support and protection for the foot. A cow, on the other hand, is made by Mother Nature and is a living, breathing, sentient, animate being that is able to breed, produce offspring, eat grass, move around on her own, and learn new things.
