Well the noble might of been more wealthier than the serf's and the serf's had to do hard labor while the noble's owned land and took care of the land and managed it.

Well, the noble probably feels powerful and supreme, and the peasant, who has to do all the labor,probablyfeels resentful towards the wealthy nobles who are living luxurious lives.
