and actually people use the term pitbull to describe a few breeds of dogs all sharing similar caristeristics (sp ?) ie; American pitbull terrier, American stafordshire terrier, stafordshire bull terrier. sometimes even cane corsos. so a pitbull could be a number of dogs but a pitbull terrier is probably reffering to an American pitbull terrier. its sometimes hard to tell any of the breeds apart.
