An acoustic is a guitar that is hollow, and has a large hole in the body to create the nice sounds that an acoustic makes. A solid body guitar does not have a hole, and is not hollow. It uses pickups instead of a hole and is usually a lot smaller.

What is difference between the sound of Semi hollow guitar and Solid body guitar?

A solid body guitar is just that, the body of the guitar is made of solid wood, some time one piece or a few, with no sound holes. A semi-hollow body guitar is made more like an acoustic guitar but more shallow, usually with sound holes off to the side rather than in the center as an acoustic guitar would. These sound holes are often in the shape of an "F."

What is the difference between accoustic and electric bass guitars?

Acoustic bass guitars are hollow-bodied wooden instruments with four strings. They look and sound similar to an acoustic guitar, except the bass is larger. Many have pickups so that they can be amplified, in which case they are sometimes called acoustic-electric. An electric bass guitar is also usually four-stringed, although five, six, and eight-stringed basses are sometimes played, but features a solid slab body and requires an amp and speaker similar to electric guitars.

What is the difference between an expensive acoustic guitar vs a cheap acoustic guitar do they sound better or its just the brand?

Aside from price, cheap acoustics usually aren't solid wood, they have plastic parts instead of bone, and all of this effects the timbre of the instrument. Generally speaking, the more expensive guitars are hand made using solid woods such as Indian and Brazilian Rosewood, Maple, Mahogany, etc. The kind of wood a guitar is made with effects how well the sound will resonate. They also tend to have better action and better intonation. It's better in the long run to invest in a good solid acoustic. Now, when it comes to higher end guitars, it's easy to get suckered into paying big bucks because of the name on the head stock. This isn't always the case, but sometimes. Shop around, play a lot of guitars, and find one that fits your needs.
