They're the same thing. A Local Area Network (LAN) and a workgroup are both a local and they both do the same thing.
I think the main difference is that a workgroup is a specific part of the LAN such as a department of a business whereas a LAN describes the network.
man is a person lan is letters
There is no difference.
Workgroup
A wired LAN uses wires to connect the computers but a wireless LAN uses radio waves.
Workstation is a computer, workgroup is usually at least 2 computers connected to each other.
Your question doesnt make much sense. Lan technology is the equipment used to make computer networks. There is no LAN standard, there are many "standards" in networking
In computer networking a work group is collection of computers connected on a LAN that share the common resources and responsibilities. Workgroup is Microsoft's term for a peer-to-peer local area network.
see link below for answer
they both are exact same...
LAN is internal. IE, your computer, router, modem. WAN is external, such as your computer, a server on the internet, a corporate database. Not to be confused with WLAN, which is wireless LAN
From the user's point of view, accessing a LAN or WAN is the same. If packets need to be forwarded from a LAN via a WAN connection that is taken care of automatically by the router.
local area network is only for small area and wireless local area network is for one building.
