A feud includes an insult. See related link for source.
An argument is a disagreement where both parties get heated. It is often loud and somewhat angry, but will generally be resolves in a timely fashion. A feud is like an argument, but is also more of a competition. both parties get emotional involved and lose sight of reason. It is long term and can often last so long no one remembers how it started. The feud between the Montagues and Capulets in Romeo and Juliet is a good example.
