Dual core is the property of having two cores in a single CPU. Core2Duo is an Intel CPU that has two cores.
´Dual core' just means that there are 2 separate cores in the CPU. Intel has made dual core pentuim 4, core duo and core 2 duo CPUs. ´Core 2 Duo´ is just one type of dual core CPU that Intel has made.
I7 supports Hyper Threading, turbo memory, triple channel memory, and some new CPU instructions which makes it faster than Intel Core 2 Quad.
The best CPU right now is the Intel Core i7
A "dual core" CPU is one that has 2 CPU cores (as opposed to 1 in older computers). "Core 2 Duo" is line of (dual core) CPUs produced by Intel.
Intel core i7
Pentium D was the first dual-core cpu.
Core (or iCore) is a new processor (CPU) range from Intel
A dual core processor has two processing cores, whereas a quad core has four.
Nehalem is the name of the architecture. The Intel Core i7 is a chip based on that architecture.
Core i3 is a CPU with the newest Intel architecture. It is performing much better in tests compared with the core 2 duo. Nowadays the GHz are not so important anymore, it is the architecture.
Pentium 4 vs. Dual CoreThere are MANY differences between these two generations of Intel CPU's. Most notably, Duo Core CPU's possess two processing cores opposed to the Pentium 4's single processing core. While a Duo Core CPU may be operating at a lower overall operating frequency, it is still much more powerful then a Pentium 4 considering it's improved FSB speed, cache size, multiple cores, efficiency, etc.
