It depends really. If you're looking for a fast but more budget-friendly CPU, the i5 is better. But it lacks some features that the i7 has. Nevertheless, it is still a good, fast CPU. The i7, on the other hand, currently reigns as king and its prices reflect that.
The Intel core i5 and i7 features both hyper threading technology helping it do multitasking and can boost the ghz up to a higher ghz. But the difference between the i5 and i7 is that i5 has two cores and i7 has 4 cores.

∙ 13y agoHmmm. I was going to ask this question. I can tell you what I've picked up along my way for a complete answer. The i5 is currently faster in gaming, hence the higher Ghz. The i5 uses two cores, which make it fast (correct me if I'm wrong), whereas the i7 has four cores which give it more power, but less speed. But that is all I have picked up on my search.
