stratification
Strata refers to distinct layers or divisions within a rock formation or other material. Stratification refers to the process of arranging or forming these layers. In essence, strata are the actual layers, while stratification is the process of layering.
Gender stratification
Gender stratification
Stratification as this is a term that describes the layering of rocks and so is not a term that is related to sediment transport (i.e. erosion) but is instead the result of deposition, compaction and cementation.
cementation
That depends on how well cemented the sandstone is. If the cementation is very poor then the permeability rate is good to excellent. If the cementation is very good, then the permeability rate is poor. Cementation fills in the pore spaces between the grains. The cementation may be calcium or silica.
Stratification results in sedimentary rock due to the deposition of organic and inorganic particles. Foliation is a texture in metamorphic rocks which is a result of heat and pressure, and results in constituent minerals appearing banded or lamellar, due to realignment.

In a system of open stratification, the boundaries between groups are less precisely defined. This type of stratification allows for more social mobility and fluidity, with individuals having the ability to change their social position over time. Examples of open stratification systems include class-based societies and meritocracies.
